Encana reports 1Q loss

Calgary, Alberta _ Encana Corp. on Tuesday reported a loss of $1.63 billion in its first quarter. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share. Encana shares have risen 4 percent since the beginning of the year.
