Aflac misses Street 1Q forecasts

COLUMBUS, Ga. _ Aflac Inc. on Tuesday reported first-quarter profit of $663 million. For the current quarter ending in June, Aflac expects its per-share earnings to range from $1.46 to $1.57. Aflac shares have increased 5.5 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard& Poor's 500 index has risen nearly 3 percent.
